Nurse Led clinics
At Newcastle Health Enterprise, our nurse practitioner and registered nurses run nurse-led clinics
Baby Airway Clinic

Our Baby Airway Clinic provides assessment and support for babies and young children experiencing concerns with their breathing, feeding or growth. The clinic is run by Nurse Practitioner Amy, who takes the time to look at your baby’s symptoms and overall wellbeing, including their breathing, feeding and growth.
The clinic may be appropriate for babies with noisy breathing, snoring, stridor, feeding difficulties, slow weight gain or ongoing airway concerns following a stay in the NICU. Where clinically indicated, your baby may also have overnight oxygen-level monitoring at home, allowing their breathing to be assessed while they sleep in their own cot.
Following the assessment, results can be reviewed by a respiratory and sleep physician, helping to provide families with a clear understanding of their baby’s breathing and feeding concerns and any recommended next steps.
A referral from your GP or paediatrician is required to attend the Baby Airway Clinic.
Epistaxis Clinic

Our Epistaxis Clinic provides assessment and treatment for patients experiencing frequent, persistent or troublesome nosebleeds. The clinic is run by Nurse Practitioner Amy, who can assess the possible causes of nosebleeds and provide advice and treatment to help manage and prevent recurrent bleeding.
During your appointment, Amy will take the time to understand your nosebleed history and examine your nose to identify any areas that may be contributing to the bleeding. Where appropriate, treatment such as nasal cautery may be performed, along with advice on caring for the nose and reducing the likelihood of further nosebleeds.
The clinic provides a convenient pathway for patients experiencing recurrent nosebleeds, with care delivered by an experienced Nurse Practitioner under appropriate clinical guidance.
